The kick-off of the Da Ma Cai Malaysia 3-Year-Old Championship at the Perak Turf Club featuring the three heats delivered highly competitive and exciting racing over the two weekends.  The five qualifying horses are Jazzmint Delight, Hot Ego, Speedy Wind, Easy Speed and Happy Victory with Kaka on standby as the Emergency Acceptor. 

Following the completion of the three heats at the Perak Turf Club, the spotlight is now on the Selangor and Penang Turf Clubs.  The first heat of the Selangor Turf Club will start this Sunday, August 26, 2007.  The second and third heats will be featured on September 29 and 30.  As for the Penang Turf Club, the 1st heat will start on September 8 while the second and third heats are scheduled on October 15 and 21.

Leading the pack of nine runners this Sunday at the Selangor Turf Club Heat 1 is Jeram Delight and BrightandBeautiful with the highest handicap of 53 and 52 respectively. Another promising contender to watch out for is Chief of Honour carrying a 37 rating and this includes the other runners who will be going all out to vie for a slot in the finals.

Each home based heat offers prize money of RM75,000 and the winner of each heat will automatically qualify for the RM250,000 Championship Final. Two second-placed horses will also get a place in the final while the third-placed horse will qualify as the emergency acceptor.  In total there will be five horses qualifying for the final from each turf club.

The final comprising of 15 qualifiers will be held on November 11 at the Selangor Turf Club.  Each of the qualifying horse owner will receive a RM10,000 Appearance Fee.

Racing fans attending races at Selangor Turf Club this Sunday will also stand a chance to win Championship merchandise through the Scratch and Win contest that is organized in conjunction with Da Ma Cai Malaysia 3-Year-Old Championship.

The Deputy Chairman of Selangor Turf Club, Datuk Richard Cham said, “Come and witness the ‘Opening Ceremony’ and ‘Special Performance’ organized by the Selangor Turf Club this Sunday, August 26, 2007.”  He further added, “The Selangor Turf Club is indeed excited about the prospects of the 3-Year-Old Championship and we are confident that this event will be a benchmark for competitive racing in Malaysia.”
