International Racing Carnival

The Selangor Turf Club introduced the International Racing Day in 2004 and in 2005 the event was expanded to two racing days due to overwhelming response.

The International Racing Carnival was introduced with the aim of promoting goodwill and enhancing international relations amongst members of the Asian Racing Federation. Each of the participated clubs or authorities will have a race named after them and these races were a part of the racing extravaganza which serves as the fitting finale of the Triple Crown Series featuring the running of the Piala Emas Sultan Selangor race.

Run over 2,000 metres, the Piala Emas Sultan Selangor race is part of the Triple Crown series, representing the 3rd leg.  With maximum prize money of RM500,000, the best horses on the Malaysian circuit will compete to clinch the coveted Piala Emas Sultan Selangor.

Another highlight of the International Racing Carnival will be the International Jockeys Championship which is held during the two racing days at the Sungai Besi Racecourse in addition to a variety of spectacular programmes to make the most prestigious event on Selangor Turf Club racing calendar.
