13 Sep 2012
R1. 9-6-3-14
Grin (9) gave a big sight last start when racing on worst going for solid 3rd to Cizen Bank Sept 9. Drawn well to lead here and take running down.
Rule Of The Game (6) improved when back to Class 5 last start for fast finishing 3rd. Good chance again with Chavez on from good barrier.
Bukit Tinggi (3) loomed-up to win last start over 1400m before running 3rd. Drops back to 1200m which might be a touch short for him and drawn poorly but must be respected.
Red Warrior (14) good light weight hope with a solid record at this track/distance.
R2. 1-6-4-2
Matt’s Forte (1) bolted in last start over 1200m leading all the way for Callow winning by 4 ½ lengths. No Callow on this time but drawn well for Chavez and if can lead again should take running down over short course.
Shimbashi (6) was very good crossing from outside gate, leading and giving a big sight before being run down the last 100m last week. Struggles to win but will run well again.
Tiger Lady (4) wasn’t far away last start and usually performs well this track/distance.
Catalan (2) improving with racing and hit the line well last start. Might be able to go on with it now.
R3. 6-7-1-4
Optimus Prime (6) chased home the smart Happy Amigo two starts back before running home strongly at Class 4 level last start. Back to maiden here and looks the one to beat from ideal draw with Chavez to ride.
Virtual Flyer (7) loomed-up and looked a threat top of the straight at his first start at Class 4 level. Back to maiden and with the run under his belt. Big chance.
Blazing Dragon (1) probably in the worst going when 4th first-up. Track work during the week was good. Awkwardly drawn.
Kim Salute (4) first starter that has trialled ok a few months ago. Watch money.
R4. 4-5-2-1
Engine (4) got a long way back before rattling home first-up last week to finish 4th over 1200m. Steps up to 1400m which looks ideal and holds a good second-up record.
Salahaddin (5) overcame wide gate and loomed-up to win last start only to be run over late over 1200m. Holding his form very well and expect him to run well again.
Landing North (2) Solid winner this track and distance last start and should go close again. Drawn awkwardly this time however.
Nine Ten (1) brave front running mare probably better suited at 1200m and is creeping up in the weights. Should take catching still.
R5. 5-12-6-1
Alacarte (5) got to far back over the 1600m last start before running on in the straight. Better suited at 1800m.
Ocean Fantasy (12) broke through for overdue win over the mile last start and looks a good light weight chance.
Money Is King (6) a touch disappointing last start over 1600m but previous form was very good. Give another chance.
Be Sure (1) should appreciate the drop back to Class 3 company after being close-up in the Sports Toto Trophy last week.
R6. 1-6-5-2
Buena Vista (1) showed a return to form at Class 5 level last start when good 3rd after leading most of the way. With Saimee on from good drawn very hard to beat.
Weowna Gin (6) good run at the mile last start when racing in worst going and still only beaten a long neck. Drawn poorly.
Sinar Pelangi (5) got a long way back and ran on well over 1400m last start. Better suited at a mile.
Admiral Khong (2) showed big improvement last start when winning over the mile. Might go on with it now.
R7. 1-9-2-6
Well Beyond (1) in great form at this level and although creeping up in the weights has to be hard to beat.
Don’t Snore (9) flew home for 3rd over the 1800m last start. Chance again.
Golden Treasure (2) should appreciate getting back up to the mile.
Fast's Whiper (6) each way chance from good barrier with Saimee to ride.
R8. 2-3-1-8
You Never Know (2) ran very well first-up. Holds a good second-up record at this level and distance. Hard to beat.
Bernanke (3) well ridden to score over 1200m last week. Up in weight now but hard to beat again.
Hoss Cartwright (1) improved last start when back to Class 4 and the 1400m last start. Senior rider back on and should give a good sight.
Higgs Boson (8) was tailed off before flying home over the 1200m when first-up last week. Extra diatance suits for J Saimee.
R9. 4-7-3-1
America Seal (4) too far back over the 1600m last start, better suited back up to the 1800m and with Saimee on hard to beat.
City Star (7) was in great form at Class 5 level before running close-up over the 2000m at Class 4 level last start. With Rueven’s claim should go well.
Prinzio (3) always consistent in this Class of race.
Liberation Spirit (1) expected a better run last start over the 1600m, but prepared to give another go over the 1800m.
R10. 5-2-13-3
Shamacam (5) imported UK galloper who trialled brilliantly a few weeks ago. Watch betting but does look above average on what we’ve seen at the trials.
Fox Ovation (2) good winner over the 1400m two back and last start got along way back before flying home for fast finishing 2nd. Watch for him late again.
Star Fire (13) placed last two starts this Class and an each way hope again.
I Rule The World (3) not far away first-up and holds a good record second-up.
Best Bet R3 No 6 Optimus Prime
